Location: Maine, USA. I was born in New Hampshire, grew up in Maine, visited Canada twice, visited Texas for a few weeks, visited the UK for a few months, and lived in Colorado for 4 years. I've criss-crossed the country twice and drove across it in July of 2012.
School/job: I've done all kinds of things. Waitressing, hostessing, minor bookkeeping, a partial Associate's degree through two different colleges in Colorado. I'm planning on finishing up that degree and pursuing a pharmacy technician license, but probably not this year.
Likes: Dolls! My journal is primarily filled with my hobby pursuits. I frequently update about my Etsy shop. I like Monster High, Moxie Teenz, Kurhn, S.I.S. and many others. (I also make things, hence the shop!) Besides dolls, I'm really into ABC's Once Upon a Time, BBC's Sherlock, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, all manner of fantasy and sci-fi books, BBC's Merlin, Stargate Universe, Firefly and various manga/anime (Kuroshitsuji, Fruits Basket, Loveless, Juuni Kokki, anything by Miyazaki.) Oh and I read books, obviously, though not as much lately with the shop up and running and trying to save up for a new laptop and camera.
Dislikes: Commercials in between segments of Once (the only show I've bothered to watch live in 5+ years), losing entries due to not copy-pasting before clicking 'post', losing thoughtful comments due to same, anyone who's ever voted against gay marriage laws being passed (i.e. equal rights), liars/cheaters/thieves what-have-you.
Anything else?: I'm owned by three cats - my girlfriend's ginger Phoenix, my fuzzy little (yeah, little) Maine Coon, and Marley the tuxie boy. Besides them I have nine budgies and my girlfriend has a rat named Nikolai. Manga: I don't read much Manga right now. But I love Monster and most works by Junji Ito.

Games: Lunar series, Fatal Frame series, Bioshock, Silent Hill series, Mortal Kombat (1-3 and the recent), Street Fighter series (including Marvel vs. Capcom stuff), Alan Wake, Batman: AA, Persona series (2-4), Borderlands 1-2, and so much more. I still have my Sega Genesis as well as Saturn, Sega CD, SNES, and so forth. I like Fighting Games, RPGS, Survival Horror, and some FPS stuff since FPS is pretty prevalent in current console gaming. But I don't play stuff like Modern Warfare or Call of Duty.

I've collected dolls (abjd, blythes, etc) and while I haven't gotten any new ones in awhile.. I still have my collection. I've recently started getting into PVC figures and Nendoroids. I love asian horror movies as well but totally not caught up with the current ones and I occasionally will get into an Asian drama. I'd probably watch more Asian dramas with recommendations! The last one I watched was Big and before that Coffee Prince.

My journal content is basically my life. I will occasionally touch on what I'm watching or playing but I don't usually devote entire posts to fandom, I don't mind when people do however.

Hey guys. I'm currently on the lookout for new DW buddies, so let's be friends!

I'm a 26 year old manboy who is currently living and working in Osaka. I've been here for a few years now and I'm generally enjoying my time here. I talk a lot about what I do in Japan, the silly stuff I entertain myself with (lately, this is leading most frequently to the topic of games. Making the Leap

I've decided it was time for me to make the leap from LJ to DW finally, after a 8 year run on Livejournal. Considering I used to blog on the really early platforms (AIM and who knows what else was around in 2000), it's safe to say I've been doing this for a long while.

A little bit about me. I am a bit of an enigma. I don't talk about my personal life a lot. I prefer to write in a way that's open to interpretation so that my readers can take what they need to out of my entries. That's part of the reason I've decided to jump ship. My LJ has become way too personal for my liking, and I need a fresh start.

A lot of the posts I write will be song interpretations and will be about the impact of music on my life. I use a lot of symbolism in my writing too, so it's not always clear what I'm talking about (this is where some animes come into play). I can be a little tough to follow sometimes, but that's intentional. In any case, I'm just looking for people that will enjoy what I write, whether it be just by reading, or participating. It's alright with me if you add me just to find something new that's fun to read. I'm not concerned with having 10,000 comments to respond to. I'm sure I'll get enough of that from people that like to get more involved.

Someone on another forum pointed me towards a few shows and I've watched a few episodes of Tantei Gakuen Q and I started watching Ghost in the Shell - Stand Alone Complex. Science fiction and police procedurals are my two favorite genres so I'm looking for similar in anime.

About My Journal: It's all about the TV shows I watch or occasionally the books I read - all unlocked. Currently I'm watching Flashpoint, Castle, NCIS, Fringe, Royal Pains and Falling Skies. Bah, piffle! ^.^ Too much to say and no good way to say it. As you might have guessed, I'm horrible at introductions, but if I must, the name's Yu. I'm a little caustic, a little sarcastic, a little too much like a kid, and a little addicted to coffee. I always say the truth, even if no one wants to hear it, and usually end up in all sorts of trouble that the Improbability Drive is to blame for. At least no one's ever bored around me. (Heh. I still haven't figured out if that's a good thing or not.) I like all sorts of creepy things like criminal profiling. I love art, whether it's performance, drawing, or writing. I'm originally from Russia, currently live in the U.S., traveled quite a bit, and studied English in Great Britain. When I'm tired, my accent reverts to British. (A year of British schooling will do that to you.) I attend Law School, draw, write, play piano, and entertain myself with video games. I...Gawd, I've said 'I' too many damn times.
